Mexican food warsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Mexican food warsFuzzy's is greatness. But I still stand by 1&10 stuffed japs.
Derail the offseason!
Re: Mexican food warsHerrerras for a greasy spoon experience. And Banditos for your more upscale one.
Mexican food warsHerrerra's is good. Salsa is usually spicy, which is good. Ate at a great hole in the wall place in Austin last weekend. Polvo's. Definitely would head back again.

Re: Mexican food wars
These two, definitely. Bandito's is overrated and definitely a UP/HP/SMU thing. No one outside the bubble goes there, IMO. ![]()

Galveston.
Mexican food wars

Re: Mexican food warsI always get their spinach enchiladas---the rest of my family get basic food---enchiladas, fajitas, etc. Down the street from The Original is Sunflower Bakery and they have great salads, sandwiches, lunch specials and desserts!!! Have fun.
Re: Mexican food warsheaded to Galveston in a couple of months and will try the original. The taco salad at Mattito's is awesome. Brisquet tacos at Mia's are amazing.
Re: Mexican food warsone of the best mexican dirty dishes I have eaten was in Killeen Texas and I swear they microwaved my lunch as I heard a microwave ding go off and then my food was served to me. Maybe it was because I was starving and 24 but I do remember it being very good. Cannot think of the name though.
Re: Mexican food warsOne more great req is El Ranchito in Oak Cliff on Jefferson. It is very awesome.
Re: Mexican food warsnick and sams grill on fairmont also has a really good taco station. If anyone is familiar with the hamburger guy, there are a few guys who used to work at Nick and Sams that started a taco cart for parties like the hamburger guy. They were amazing and super cheap for a party. Name is taco guy. Have a number if anyone is ever interested.
Re: Mexican food warsI try to avoid praising 1st and Ten because that happens a lot anyway, but the stuffed jalapenos were outstanding. Some of the best I've ever had. Also, can we really call brisket tacos mexican food? I love'em, but they seem somewhow...out of place.

Even though I referenced a few Mexican style tacos in my original post, it's really all Tex Mex anyway. And beef brisket is about as Texas as it gets. Go Mustangs!
Re: Mexican food warsI know Fort Worthless is usually out of the scope of these lists, but I really like La Familia out that way.
Anyone tried the whole in the wall out that way that claims Roosevelt ate there? "I think Couchem is right."
