Tried it for the first time Friday night. I liked it a lot. Great fast food with, really, an Austin feel to it. Sitting outside working on a longneck was kinda cool. Good mixed crowd.

Re: Mexican food warsI last darkened their door in the late '80s. While I kinda remember liking the food, I don't remember it being true Tex Mex. But it sounds like I may be missing something.
Say, did you run Matt Martinez out of town? Saw he lost his lease.
Re: Mexican food warsHad dinner at Javier's a few months ago, last time I was there was twenty years ago. It is not
Tex-Mex, it is more, "Interior Mexico" food, whatever that means. It was very good and the margarita's are still bueno. Has anyone seen my cocktail?
Re: Mexican food warsIt was always good, and sounds like it still is. But I hear "Mexican food" and I think "Tex Mex." May it always be so. Amen.
Re: Mexican food wars
Agreed. Has anyone seen my cocktail?
Re: Mexican food warsNot Tex-Mex, Mexican food. Mexico City style if you will. Without ducking the bullets...

Re: Mexican food warsCool cigar bar too. The place to see and be seen. Cougars every where...and 20 somethings too. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Mexican food warsAmazing. It's always been such an odd location and yet it still goes on and on.
Mexican food warsOne of my top 5 in Dallas. Food, drinks and service are quite consistent.

Re: Mexican food warsRafa's on Lovers is the best...eat in the bar and they will bring select items cooking in the back that aren't even on the menu...
Re: Re: Mexican food wars
I enjoy Rafa's for lunch when I'm in town. Their salsa might be the hottest in the D I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
