Arkansas put football coach Bobby Petrino on paid leave Thursday after he failed to disclose he had been riding with a female employee half his age when his motorcycle skidded off the road over the weekend.

Somehow, I don't believe the Beloved Razorbacks would jeopardize their football success because of poor motorcycle handling with a female passenger well beyond the age of consent in Ark. Adultery certainly isn't a disqualifies in Arkansas (Think Wilber Mills, Bill Clinton). Quite the contrary, we name highways and streets after our most famous adulterers.

Something else is going on here (drugs? Alcohol?). Something embarrassing and adultery isn't embarrassing in this state.

And airports.

I think that Jones and Petrino were separated at birth. I never met any volleyball women at SMU. I feel like I missed out on some real education.

It was strange from the beginning when Petrino at his press conference said that after the crash there was a lady who flagged down a car. None of our astute Arkansas newspeople thought to ask from where the woman appeared.

If anyone recalls, Nutt was chastised and run out of town and one reason was the large volume of texting he did with a local newslady. Morally this was just too wrong. But I would imagine with national championship visions dancing in their heads, Petrino will skate pretty easily.

Age Discrimination. What the hell is wrong with being seen with a "girl half your age". I do it every week.

this is getting uglier-apparently girl was engaged to ANOTHER Arkansas athletic staffer and fans have made comments on her internet wedding page. I hope they don't stone her to death in Arkansas-she already has Letter Jacket with the appropriate Scarlet Letter (thanking you in advance)

At Arkansas it is the Cardinal Letter.

Who gives a shite who was with him? That's personal and between he and his family. Why the AD "needs" to know anything about it is BS.

Moving on.

It's relevant because he lied about it in the media earlier this week

..and, because of his influence over young men it is relevant.
It makes sense to me.
