This is a ridiculous non story manufactured into a story.

If his boss was looking for a reason to restructure his contract or get rid of him, then this is just an excuse.

By this reasoning anybody who does something in their personal life that isn't pretty - they need to pro-actively self-report themselves to the media. I am sure that is not a standard that the AD would want to live up to.

Coaches who are charged with setting an example for young men should not lie to their employers or to the media.

the actual event(s) may be forgivable in popular culture and in the business environment, but lying (and cover-up) about it (see Nixon, Clinton, Bliss et al) is the place that gets the dander up of most folks.

Petrino right now is a train-wreck as a human being, but an exceptional coach. I suspect that if the AD was going to dismiss him on morals-clause in the contract, he would have done so at this time, with the current disclosure. The fact that there has been a break to 'gather the facts' seems to indicate that there is a move on to find a way to keep him by heavy-hitters, and yet maintain more 'control', however that is defined. There very well may be more to this story, but with the current revelations, things are going to get mighty sticky up in the Hog House.

LEO risked his career by complicity in the cover-up...a young woman's life was/is an equal train-wreck...and the Arkansas Athletic Department is trying to keep funds coming in for the 'football facility' from a now polarizing fanbase. Not a happy place..

"We win, and your son will have the chance to get to the next level"

Cynical, but a sad reality in today's recruiting.

Nothing has happened yet becuase Jeff Long is a very detailed and meticulous individual who does his homework and gets things right. He is investigating all aspects to this and will make his decision I believe this week, perhaps tomorrow.

The latest rumor (AND THIS IS RUMOR) is that the young girls wedding had been called off 3 weeks ago when the boyfriend found out about an affair with Petrino, and others. Now again, this is rumor, but if this turns out to be true that means Petrino was with her prior to hiring her into his department and that could be trouble. I am sorry I am straying from facts but this is a smoking gun type of statement that came from a friend of the former groom to be.

Interesting...so the wedding was called off three weeks ago, but the engagement website was still online, allowing for possibly the single funniest hour in internet history?

Strange, but certainly not outside the realm of possibilities.

Could very well just be an embarassed boyfriend trying to recover some pride.
