I will admit this decision floored me. Arkyland traditionally doesn't give a hoot about morals ethics or decent behavior as long as someone wins. And the word from every Arkyland fan I talked to was that nothing would happen because winning was too important to dismiss because Petri no was getting a little strange on the side. There must have been more to this saga than one motorcycle accident with a semi-hot babe along for the ride. I half expect a few riots to break out over this decision. And who knows how they handle the coaching search.

I think this calls for a Whole Hog summit meeting.

You have to figure at the end of the day, it wasnt the affair or the secret payments, it was giving her a university job through favoritsm. I sure hope she writes a book about this so we can get the whole story.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

It is nice that most of the fans are agreeing with Long's decision. I am proud for Arkansas that the man did what was right!

Thinking the same thing, Shadowman...have to have one of the legal folks here (Stallion?) who may know a bit of Arky law about the sexual harrassment liability (consent, lack thereof, supervisory/employee boundaries), et al. Noticed ESPN said she had already lawyered up.

Noted in Long's message last night that he mentioned "misleading and manipulative behavior both BEFORE and after the motorcycle accident"...Leads me to think that when the 'getting the facts' time came, there was discovery of things that put the University at even greater risk, and therefore there was little choice for the AD but to cut Petrino loose.

Forgetting the football side for a minute, lives and careers were irreprably damaged over the course of the past few days...prayers for families are outbound.

This is predominately Federal Law not Arkansas Law. If the Volleyball Babe did not receive any UNWANTED sexual advances or discriminatory employment decisions then there is no legal liability on her end. The problem arises from those interviewed for her job that DIDN'T get the job who will now probably claim they were victims of sexual discrimination since they were denied the position the slutty Babe got.

One of the ESPN talking heads mentioned that the University could be on the hook because Arky law stated something about consent or non consent were irrelevant regarding innapropriate conduct in supervisor/employee relationship...seems this is going more civil than criminal in the coming days. BTW, thanks

Gary Patterson doesn't have a buy-out in his contract. He's free to go without penalty at a minutes notice to any team able to get him.

A summit is definitely in order. Even if I don't give a hoot about the Beloved Razorbacks coaching destiny. Maybe Friday?

After seeing a photo of the 25 year old Volleyball/Motorcycle Babe, I can see why Petrino hired her. However, I'm not sure his wife and kids will understand. Maybe they'll bring Jimmy Johnson out of retirement. Buy him a boat and a lake.
