They also now have an Arts school and admin offices downtown Dallas on Elm Street across from the courthouse. SMU should have fought to make sure that their brand became the only law campus downtown......downtown is exploding and NTSU has their footprint in our city now.
Ponyscott, how could have SMU fought that?
The law school concept downtown was up for grabs....SMU wasn't aggressive enough to make the move IMHO. If I were SMU....I would have fought to make certain that NTSU didn't infiltrate the Dallas area. Granted it is more oriented to traffic law but why allow them into the heart of Dallas. I'm sure there were politics involved but still...
Politics are always involve. Thanks for you insight

come on - don't be crazy. We are going to pay for a downtown law school 5 miles from our existing law school? UNT will lose money on that deal for over a generation.

BS. .it's a satellite law school for night school students etc. New York Law and every major city has law schools downtown. AND the buildings could be purchased inexpensively and the City of Dallas offers TIF and Grant incentives which would have made it even easier. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

We're not even "the team" for the majority of students at SMU!

Common Stallion, you should know this. If you have a traffic related ticket, speeding, reckless driving etc...

North Texas has a pretty good crowd at the game today but then again a ton of UNT people live in Dallas.

They put all sorts of teams and organizations in their light show - usually associated with a big event going on in the area (and especially if it's in Dallas) or a convention they are hosting. In this case, the event is Heart of Dallas Bowl.
And UNT will beat SMU because we are always their Super Bowl.
The TCU game is our "Super Bowl" and we always lose. UNT will lose badly to SMU.

Lets be real...the casual college football fan can probably relate with ntsu a lot more than they can with smu (or tcu). I do think ntsu can make some strides in the dallas market.
